White After Labor Day

I think it’s time to retire the fashion rule, “No White After Labor Day”. For me, it’s sort of impossible to not wear white after Labor Day, especially while in Texas, because the weather is still well in the 90’s and it still feels like summer. And, quite frankly, I think I like white even more during the fall and winter months! So, this evening I went to meet up with my girlfriend for happy hour dinner and drinks at a restaurant called Taco Garage. We sat outside, jammed to the live band, sampled several fun tasting margaritas, and ate true Tex-Mex Mexican food.

Tex-Mex- (from Texan and Mexican) is a term describing a fusion of American cuisine and Mexican cuisine, deriving from the culinary creations of Tejanos… Tex-Mex cuisine is characterized by its heavy use of shredded cheese, meat (particularly beef and pork), beans, and spices, in addition to Mexican-style tortillas. Dishes such as Texas-style chili con carne and fajitas are all Tex-Mex inventions.

I opted to wear a casual day look, with subtle jewelry. See deets below.

Houston Mall Day (LOTD)

I am in the process of getting my Russian Visa so that I can live there until June because my husband will be playing Pro-Basketball in Krasnoyarsk. Part of this process was having to go to the Russian Consulate in Houston, TX and get an official stamp on my paperwork. I, at first, was not looking forward to making the 3 hour drive to Houston from San Antonio but my attitude changed once my best friend said she would join me and we could get some shopping done while we were there. San Antonio shopping just isn’t the same as Houston shopping, so this was BIG!

We stayed at a fun country boutique hotel, The Hotel Derek, and enjoyed the day eating and shopping!!! I opted for a casual day look. I knew I had a hectic day walking around the 3 story Galleria Mall and that is best done being comfortable and stylish! My fav part of my outfit was my comfortable Michael Kors wedges! Find details below on where to get them!

Pastel in Schloss Burg

After a rather boring Wednesday afternoon I decided to make a quick trip to see Schloss Burg Castle. I love how convenient it can be to make these fun and exciting trips while living in Europe! My drive was a scenic 20 minutes and because it was a weekday the castle was not buzzing with too many tourists. These are the type of experience I really look forward to while living in Germany/Europe. It’s not very often I get to visit cities with rich history dating back to 1133!!! You do the math! That’s pretty OLD and I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia in a place like Schloss Burg. I have read books and heard stories that take my imagination back in time and it is these type of surroundings that allow me to relive those wistful feelings!

Being that it was such a dazzling summer day I put together a fun pastel outfit. White, baby blue, pink, soft purples, casual greys, and blingy jewelry completed my look! See my outfit details below.

Yesterday I strolled through the funky city of Wuppertal, Germany. I did the usual European thing to do, which was have a midday coffee, and I also went out for lunch and some shopping. The mid-summer sales going on are NO JOKE! I found the craziest deals! See these style steals below.

Leopard Mango Sneakers are 50% off on their website but I purchased for 14,99 Euro in store.

I can’t find the exact color of my new red trimmed MOSCHINO Sunglasses I purchased, but I found the exact model here and also another discount store to purchase designer glasses… TK Maxx (Obsessed with that place!). I got these MOSCHINO Sunglasses for 30 Euro at TK Maxx which were originally 170 Euro!

As for the rest of my OOTF/ LOTD (Outfit of the Day/Look of the Day), you can find those details below.

The Rock Stud Pumps are by Catwalk Connection. They’re Valentino inspired but not even close to Valentino prices!

My navy blue tank top was something I found at a random boutique that I found in Houston while living there a few years back. You can find this similar top at one of my top favorite retailers, Lulus.

My shorts were actually part of a ‘coordinates’ outfit, but I chose not to pair it with the matching tank that day. I purchased the shorts in store at Vero Moda. You can find similar looks here.

You can find something similar to my Hall Huber bag here and here.

Frolicking Frankfurt, Germany

Summer Holiday Sale: Up to 80% OFF Sitewide at Rosewholesale.com.

Ok, so I know I have complained a lot about the awful grey weather in Germany, but the heat has been unbearable these last couple of days! Nearly 100 degrees with NO A/C! That isn’t exactly what I had in mind! Because it so rarely stays hot in German it is uncommon to find an air conditioned home, or even restaurants. My husband & I had only one solution to break free from our near heat exhaustion… Take a road trip to a fun city and stay at an air conditioned hotel! So here we are, in Frankfurt, Germany living in the Wyndham Grand until Sunday! Not bad! I really love this city. It’s one of the rare cities in Germany where you will see actual sky scrapers too! We walked the streets, did some shopping, ate amazing food, & most importantly we stayed nice & cool!

My dress is by, you guessed it, Forever21. You can find similar dresses here & here.

Cruise Life- Sardinia & Sicily, Italy

30% Off Coupon: B30OFF

Day 3- Every evening we were on the sea, only to arrive in a new city each morning. After one whole day on the Mediterranean Ocean I woke up to find myself in Olbia, Sardinia.

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea (after Sicily and before Cyprus) and an autonomous region of Italy… The island has a Mediterranean climate along the coasts, plains and low hills and a continental climate on the interior plateaus, valleys and mountain ranges… Sardinia is one of the most geologically ancient bodies of land in Europe. The island was populated in various waves of emigration from prehistory until recent times.

To be honest, as gorgeous as Sardinia was, the weather was SUCH a disappointment. I was looking forward to beach time in particular and it was sort of ruined by cloudy skies and cold raindrops. I didn’t allow this to entirely crush my experience though. I thoroughly enjoyed the endless ocean view and the Italian coffee. The water in Olbia was rather still and a clear turquoise hue… breathtaking! The only good thing about the weather was that it allowed me to enjoy the moment without so many distractions. The beach was not busy, only with the typical beach vendors bothering you every 3 minutes asking if you wanted to buy selfie sticks or a “Rolex”. Haha! After 3 hours on the beach the sun started to peak through the grey clouds, BUT that was also the end of our tour and we had to load ourselves into the bus to head back to our cruise ship. Too bad, so sad. At this point, I was hoping this wasn’t what to expect for the rest of my cruise vacation.

To make the day end on a good note I decided to reserve a spot at the A La Carte Sushi Restaurant, which I was craving so badly! I devoured every sushi roll and sashimi on my plate… Oopsy! Twice, throughout the dinner, I was complimented on my heels, which I was totally flattered by. You can find these custom made Valentino inspired heels, for more than half the cost of originals, at Catwalk Connection. Ciao Sardinia!

Day 4- I didn’t visit the city of Palermo, Sicily at all this day. I knew that many of the ship’s guests would leave to join city/bus tours and I wanted to take advantage of the ship’s 12th deck… aka, the pool deck. After an unsatisfying day in Sardinia, I NEEDED as much sun as possible, and with no interruptions from it! I spent a good 6-7 hours in the same spot, waking in and out of sun tanning consciousness, & I has the entire pool all to myself. THIS is my THING. I spend most of my summers laying out and relaxing in the sun… wearing SPF, of course. I was in vacation heaven!

The ship was equipped with it’s own German brewery so, of course, I had to taste test their German Brauhaus restaurant for dinner. It was spot on! I had the typical German schnitzel while my husband inhaled Schweinshaxe, another one of my fav German dishes. As the ship was about to sail to our next stop, I couldn’t help but notice the most amazing sunset I ever saw. That is how I expected to spend and end my day in Palermo!
